EAStern China city Ningbo has signed a number of agreements with south western city Sichuan,including starting sea-rail intermodal service between the two this year,Logistic Week reported.
The agreements were signed in a bid to fully exploit the strenghts of port and railway infrastructures in the two places to creat mutual benefit by offering Sichan shippers a faster way for transporting their wxports and expanding cargo sources for the port of Ningbo.
Ningbo will provide a subsidy of CNY550(US$73.30) for every container using the service,while Sichan has promised to offer matching discounts to fees in support of government policies.
The two sides have also agreed to cooperate on simplifying customs clearance procedures for cargo moving between the two places.
